During a recent sanction letter distribution ceremony held at the CM block, Assam's Tourism Minister, Jayanta Malla Baruah, emphasized the state's commitment to developing its tea tourism sector. This event marked the second phase of the initiative, where 34 selected tea gardens were granted sanction letters, signaling a boost to their development.
Minister Baruah highlighted the rich potential of Assam's tea tourism, noting, "We have a lot to develop in tea tourism. Asia's oldest golf course is in Jorhat, and these are our invaluable assets."
Business North East also had the opportunity to interview one of the tea garden founders. She expressed her gratitude for the government's support, stating, "I am very glad that the Assam government's initiative will help us to further develop our gardens."
