Assam Cricket Association holds 4th Annual Award Function

Guwahati: The Assam Cricket Association has organised its 4th Annual Award Function and Prize Distribution Ceremony on July 29 at the Auditorium of 9 Yards Club of Assam Cricket Association in the city.

The event was organised to felicitate the cricketers in the function for their exemplary performances during the 2022-2023 season.
The top winners were Riyan Paran winning Rs 3 lakh, Bud Cricket Club winning Rs 10 lakh and runners of Radial Club Nagaon winning Rs 5 lakh. The two semifinalists collected Rs 2 lakh each.

Approximately Rs 1.5 crore in prize money was distributed during the ceremony. The 39 district winners of the 5th Assam Premier Club Championships received Rs 1 lakh each, while the six zonal champions were rewarded with Rs 1.5 lakh each.

Business Northeast spoke to Joint Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India Devajit Lon Saikia who informed that they are always trying to motivate them so that they can bring laurels to the state.

They are in this process for the past few years. They want to acknowledge their performance in various BCCI-level tournaments as well as in domestic tournaments and intra-state tournaments.

He appreciated the players of Assam for being dedicated. Earlier, many things were not happening but they have a sequence of events now, Saikia informed, adding that the players and coaches are giving their best. They are including professionalism in cricket now. As a result, positivity and good results are coming.
