Guwahati: Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, met with Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria at his residence at the Raj Bhavan today to discuss various developmental issues concerning the state.
During the meeting, they focused on expediting the state's development and addressed key people-centric issues crucial for the welfare of all sections of the population. The Chief Minister updated the Governor on various government initiatives aimed to promote overall development in Assam.
The Chief Minister recently shared his thoughts with the media on the rising score of the state in the sustainable development goals (SDG) survey carried out by the NITI Aayog.
He informed Business North East about reaching the "achiever" target, which, he said, was due to the schemes implemented by his government. He claimed the flagship Orunodoi scheme, which transfers funds to the accounts of women every month, was instrumental in advancing the state in the rankings.
