In a bid to speed up industrial development and improve rural growth in the region, the Assam Cabinet on January 31 approved a series of transformative policies and initiatives aiming to nurture economic development and infrastructural developments across the state.
Key Resolutions Include:
1. Approval of Three Key Industrial Policies: The Cabinet authorized three pivotal industrial policies intended to rouse economic growth and attract considerable savings in Assam. These policies are expected to create a conducive setting for businesses, generate employment chances, and position Assam as a competitive industrial hub in the region.
2. Extension of Mission Basundhara 3.0: The government extended the deadline for Mission Basundhara 3.0 till February 15. This postponement is coupled with exemptions for certain communities from the stringent 3-Generation Rule, thereby simplifying land-related events and making it calmer for persons to resolve land ownership and documentation issues.
3. Approval of Guidelines for Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan-(MMUA-N): To support eligible Self Help Groups in urban areas to take up micro-entrepreneurship. The scheme will provide Rs.10,000 seed fund to eligible members.

4. Establishment of the Department of Innovation, Incubation & Startups: Knowing the rank of fostering novelty and entrepreneurship, the Cabinet accepted the creation of a devoted Department of Innovation, Incubation and Startups. This new section will support developing businesses, provide incubation facilities, and endorse a startup-friendly ecosystem to encourage young entrepreneurs and innovators.
5. Approval of New Rural Road Projects: To strengthen rural connectivity and improve infrastructure in remote areas, the Cabinet accepted numerous new rural road projects. These schemes are expected to enhance convenience, facilitate economic activities in rural regions, and improve the overall quality of life for residents.
The approved initiatives are anticipated to have a lasting impact on the state's economic landscape and the well-being of its citizens.
