Guwahati: In an effort to empower village communities, the Assam Forest Department, in collaboration with the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council, has launched an initiative to distribute bamboo saplings and support local artisans in producing bamboo crafts.
This initiative has already yielded significant results, with Rs 17 lakh worth of bamboo crafts sold so far. The program not only promotes self-reliance among the community members but also helps preserve and advance Assam's rich heritage of bamboo craftsmanship.

By providing resources and guidance, the Assam Forest Department and the Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council aim to foster economic growth and sustainability at the grassroots level.
