Assam Govt Announces Barxik Silpi Sanman 2024-25, Special Pension For Deceased Artists' Families

The Government of Assam's Cultural Affairs Department has announced the list of selected artists for the Barxik Silpi Sanman 2024-25 and One Time Special Family Pension to families of deceased artists. These awards are provided under the Assam Award of Pension to Artists and  Special Pension to their Families Rules, 1987.

One-time Financial Grant (Barxik Silpi Sanman 2024–25) and a one-time Special Family Pension to families of Deceased Artists of  Rs. 50,000  for their contribution to the field of art and culture for 2024–2025 has been conferred.

Barxik Silpi Sanman 2024-25 recipients include a variety of artists across multiple fields - such as music, drama, dance, and traditional crafts, from districts like Bajali, Barpeta, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Kamrup, and many more.

Additionally, a special list has been compiled for differently-abled individuals involved in art and culture. The department has also announced one-time special assistance for the families of deceased artists.

The recipients are acknowledged for their work in genres such as music, theatre, folk arts, and traditional crafts, contributing greatly to Assam's cultural heritage.
