JSW Energy arm commissions 300 MW wind project

New Delhi :JSW Energy announced on Sunday that its subsidiary, JSW Renew Energy Two Ltd, has completed the construction of a 300 MW wind power facility in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. A company statement announced that the wind power project connected to ISTS (Inter-state transmission system) was awarded by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) in tranche X. This is the company's inaugural greenfield wind power plant commissioned for the SECI, as highlighted.

The company stated that the recently launched wind power project will play a key role in diversifying the renewable energy mix, aligning with the goal of a more environmentally friendly and long-lasting future. The 150 MW of wind power capacity allocated in SECI Tranche X at Dharapuram, Tamil Nadu, is almost finished, with 138 MW already up and running, as reported. Afterwards, the current total installed capacity is 7,726 MW, and the under-construction capacity is 2,114 MW, anticipated to be operational by the end of FY 2025.

The Company currently has 2,152 MW of wind capacity installed. In the statement, Sharad Mahendra, Joint Managing Director and CEO of JSW Energy, mentioned that this milestone brings them one step closer to their goal of reaching 10 GW installed capacity by FY2025. Moreover, we have a strong lineup of renewable projects, pushing us closer to reaching our target of 20 GW by 2030. JSW Energy has a combined generation capacity of 18.2 GW from wind, solar, hydro, and thermal power plants that are fully utilized. The company has a renewable pipeline of 8.3 GW, with 2.3 GW already signed for PPAs.
