Workshop on UNNATI 2024 scheme held for NE region officers

New Delhi: A workshop on the Uttar Poorva Transformative Industrialisation Scheme (UNNATI), 2024, was recently held at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi, focusing on the Northeastern states of India. The event was organized by the Northeastern Region Subsidy Scheme (NERS) section of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) in partnership with the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), and other key stakeholders including Invest India, PIU, and PMU teams.

The workshop brought together representatives from all eight Northeastern states, with the aim of discussing strategies for industrial growth in the region. The session was led by Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, whose guidance was crucial in addressing the concerns of the states. He laid out a strategic plan and provided a clear roadmap for successfully implementing the UNNATI, 2024 Scheme. Joint Secretary Shri Balamurugan also presented a detailed execution plan to ensure smooth and effective implementation.

During the workshop, each state shared information about the industrial incentives and opportunities available in their region, highlighting the potential for significant growth. Over 80 officers from Northeastern states and various union ministries took part in the discussions, offering valuable suggestions to improve the UNNATI scheme.

The event provided a platform for meaningful dialogue and established a strong foundation for transformative development in the Northeast. Director Dr. Kajal expressed sincere gratitude to all participants and stakeholders for their contributions, which were key to the workshop's success.

There is strong optimism that the UNNATI, 2024 Scheme will drive continued progress and growth in the Northeastern region, fostering industrialization and economic development in the years to come.
