Workshop on IP rights held in city

Guwahati: The National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) and Guwahati Biotech Park jointly conducted a workshop on July 19 on 'Intellectual Property Rights' as part of the celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) and the Rashtriya Boudhik Sampada Mahotsav (National Intellectual Property Festival). 



The workshop aimed to raise awareness among stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem about the importance of intellectual property rights, including industries, MSMEs, farmers, artisans, researchers, academia, and students.

The workshop drew a crowd of approximately 100 people and was inaugurated by N.G. Lakshmi Narayan, Chief Business Developer, NRDC, along with other distinguished guests.

During the event, Narayan emphasised the importance of intellectual property rights in technology development and commercialisation, highlighting various promotional activities conducted by NRDC

Other speakers also discussed the significance of business development in the North Eastern Region, the current scenario of intellectual property rights, the opportunities available, and government facilities for technology development.

Dr. Vandana Kalia, Scientist-F, DSIR, spoke about the role of DSIR and the importance of women empowerment and technology development.
