The 10th Convocation of the University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) was held in 2024, where a total of 1,639 students were awarded their degrees. The event was marked by the recognition of renowned artists Zubeen Garg and Lou Majaw, who were both conferred with honorary Doctorate of Literature (LittD) degrees in acknowledgment of their outstanding contributions to music and culture.
During the ceremony, Chancellor and Chairman of USTM, Mahbubul Hoque, made a significant announcement. He informed the gathering that the university would soon initiate a water resource project on campus. This project, as he emphasized, will be undertaken with a minimal budget, reflecting the university’s commitment to innovation and sustainability. The convocation was a momentous occasion, celebrating both academic achievements and the contributions of cultural icons, while also looking forward to the university's future developments.
