Vistadome benefits local industries with large tourist footfall

Guwahati: The introduction of Vistadome has increased a lot of avenues for the Northeast Frontier Railways.

Vistadome coaches offer a 360-degree view of the journey as the coaches come complete with huge glass windows and roofs for passengers to enjoy the breath-taking panoramic views of pristine nature during the time of journey giving them an immersive travel experience.

In addition, these Vistadome coaches also have state-of-the-art passenger amenities.

The very first Vistadome services in NFR were introduced in two sections on August 28, 2021. One was from Guwahati to New Haflong and the other from New Jalpaiguri to Alipurduar.

These two services were introduced in these routes to promote tourism and cultural heritage of the North East and the North Bengal region. The introduction of such world-class services attracted both domestic and international tourists. The impeccable natural beauty of both the regions can be promoted giving the hidden potential tourism industry a boom.
The introduction of Vistadome highly benefitted the local industries because due to the large tourist footfall has created new work opportunities, revenue earnings and helped in promoting indigenous products in world level.

In Dima-Hasao, the introduction of the Guwahati–Haflong Vistadome service gave a boost to the local tourism industry which was in a decline after covid restrictions. A vast segment of people belonging to various sectors got benefitted economically with more and more tourists coming into the region.

Keeping in view, the incomparable benefits, more Vistadome coaches were introduced by NFR between Agartala and Jiribam, Guwahati and Naharlagun and recently between New Jalpaiguri and Howrah to meet the increasing demands as well as introducing the unexplored tourism areas of the region. One more train, namely Kulik Express, has also been provided by a Vistadome Coach recently.
