US Embassy Delegation Visits Kokrajhar To Strengthen Ties With BTR

Guwahati: In a significant move towards fostering international collaboration, a high-level delegation from the US Embassy visited BTC Chief Pramod Boro in Kokrajhar on November 20, 2024. Led by Minister-Counsellor for Political Affairs Graham Mayer, the delegation discussed potential collaborations in key sectors such as health and education, focusing on supporting BTR's development initiatives during their two-day visit, the Kokrajhar District Information and Public Relations Office (DIPRO) said in a release on Wednesday.

The visit highlighted the growing interest in strengthening ties between the US and the BTR, focusing on fostering socio-economic development, accoding to the release. 

BTC Chief Pramod Boro expressed pleasure at hosting the delegation. “We are delighted to welcome Graham Mayer and his team in BTR. Their insights and discussions promise to foster meaningful partnerships for the region’s growth and progress,” Pramod Boro said.

The team included A. Sukesh, Senior Political Advisor; Dan Robbins, Political Officer; and Tinku Roy, Political Consultant. Discussions centered on potential partnerships in key sectors such as health and education, with an emphasis on bolstering the region’s development agenda.

As part of their itinerary, the delegation engaged with local stakeholders and visited pivotal sites, including the mini spun mill and the Bodoland Silk Park Adabari. These visits provided the team with a comprehensive understanding of the region's developmental priorities and challenges.

The visit highlights the BTC government's proactive approach to establishing international partnerships aimed at sustainable growth. It is expected to pave the way for innovative collaborations that will contribute to the long-term socio-economic advancement of BTR.
