UGC-NET examination cancelled

New Delhi: The UGC-NET June 2024 examination, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in OMR mode, has been cancelled due to a potential compromise in the examination's integrity. 

The University Grants Commission (UGC) received inputs from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) on June 19, 2024, indicating that the examination may have been compromised. The Ministry of Education has decided to cancel the examination, and a fresh one will be conducted, with information shared separately. 

Meanwhile, the matter is being handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a thorough investigation. According to reports, the NEET(UG) 2024 Examination issue has also been fully addressed, and a detailed report from the Economic Offences Unit, Bihar Police has been sought regarding alleged irregularities in Patna.

The government has said it is committed to ensuring the sanctity of examinations and protecting student interests, and any individual or organization involved will face strict action.
