Twelve industrial projects approved in Northeast

Guwahati: India's Project Approval Monitoring Committee (PAMC) has approved 12 projects under the centre's Small, Light and Medium Enterprises (MSME) scheme in the Northeast and Sikkim. The projects include three in Assam, five in Nagaland, and four in Sikkim.

In Assam, the projects are to be set up in the Tingkhang, Tamulpur, and Karimganj areas, officials said.

The Tingkhang Industrial Park in Dibrugarh district will cost Rs 25.1 crore, with the centre contributing Rs 13.50 crore and the state contributing Rs 11.51 crore. On the other hand, the industrial park at Bari Angarkata village in Kumarikata mouzas of Tamulpur will cost Rs 21.65 crore, with the central and state Governments contributing Rs 13.50 crore and Rs 8.15 crore respectively. The total cost of the project is Rs 18.74 crore. 

The total cost of the 12 industrial projects in the Northeast is Rs 178.24 crore, according to the Office of the Development Commissioner for MSMEs in the Northeast.
