Agartala: To enhance the monitoring of Anganwadi Centers in Tripura, the State Government has launched a new application, the ‘Anganwadi Center Inspection and Monitoring App.’

Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy told Business North East that the app leverages technology to ensure that essential services for mothers and children are delivered effectively across all Anganwadi Centers in the state.

“There are around 10,000 Anganwadi Centers in Tripura, serving approximately 4 lakh children,” the Minister noted.
The State Government is actively working to upgrade these centers by expanding the scope of services.

He said that this includes not only education and nutrition but also improvements in infrastructure such as electricity, drinking water, sanitation facilities, vegetable cultivation, and sports activities.

The app is designed to provide real-time monitoring of these services.

"If someone wants to inspect an Anganwadi Center using the app, they must be within a 50-meter radius of the center and submit relevant details. The app will automatically generate a report, capturing all necessary information about the center. This data will then be stored in the app for future reference," the Minister explained.

One of the key features of the app is its ability to upload photos of various aspects of the Anganwadi Centers, allowing ministers, secretaries, and other officials to directly assess the conditions on-site. "By witnessing the actual state of the centers, officials can take immediate measures to address any shortcomings," he added.

Additionally, the app will help track the visits of departmental supervisors and other employees, providing data on how many centers have been inspected monthly and whether the set targets are being achieved.

Regarding child health, the Minister emphasized that weight and height are measured using growth-tracking equipment at each Anganwadi Center. The initiative is further supported by the ‘Mission Able Anganwadi’ and ‘Poshan 2.0’ programs.

"Workers at every level have been provided mobile phones equipped with a nutrition tracker app to record all service-related information about mothers and children. This allows for effective monitoring at the highest levels," said the Minister.
