Mumbai: Tata Sons' intends to use its corporate social responsibility (CSR) funding to construct the Indian Temple Museum in Ayodhya. The project has reportedly been approved by the Uttar Pradesh government.

The museum, which will be built in the Sadar tehsil's Manjha Jamthara hamlet, will cost Rs 650 crore. The site would receive an additional allocation of Rs 100 crore for the development of basic infrastructure.

The tourism agency would lease the museum's land for ninety years for a minimal fee of Re one per year, according to State Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh. A tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Union Ministry of Culture, the UP government, and Tata Sons for the construction and management of the museum has been approved by the UP cabinet.

The state government will sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) through the UP Principal Secretary, Culture, with the Chief Minister having the final say over project decisions.

It is anticipated that Tata Sons' involvement will contribute knowledge to the museum's building. 2-4 lakh tourists visit Ayodhya every day since the Ram temple's dedication ceremony on January 22.

The cabinet also approved the development of heritage buildings into tourism destinations and the introduction of helicopter services under the PPP model in Lucknow, Prayagraj, and Kapilvastu.

Kothi Roshan Dulha in Lucknow, Barsana Jal Mahal in Mathura, and Shukla Talab in Kanpur are among the chosen locations.
