Startups to Present Innovations Before PM Modi At Advantage Assam 2.0

Guwahati: As many as sixteen startups will be able to showcase their products before Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, marking a significant highlight of the Advantage Assam 2.0: Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025. 

The event aims to spotlight Assam's economic potential and foster investment across key sectors. The Assam Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation led the selection process, ensuring a diverse range of startups from various industries. Among the chosen few is Hokolupay, a fintech company from Assam. 

“The Hon’ble PM will visit my stall. Yesterday, Jayanta Mallah Baruah Sir, Minister of Public Health Engineering and Housing & Urban Affairs, shared my photo on Twitter,” a Hokolupay representative told Business North East (BNE).

The two-day summit, scheduled for February 25-26, 2025, is taking place at the Veterinary Field, Khanapara, Guwahati, and will focus on sectors like infrastructure, electronics, semiconductors, aerospace, renewable energy, tourism, food and beverage, fragrance and flavours, and logistics.
Adding a cultural touch to the summit, a grand performance titled ‘Jhumoir Binondini’ will be held at Sarusajai Stadium today, featuring around 7,500 dancers and artists from Assam’s tea garden communities.

The inaugural session will see participation from PM Modi, Union Ministers, global industry leaders, foreign delegates, bilateral chambers of commerce, and entrepreneurs from across the state. The summit will conclude with a valedictory session led by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Ahead of the event, Minister Jayanta Mallah Baruah tweeted, “This evening, I visited the Khanapara Exhibition Venue and Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport to review final preparations for the upcoming events—‘Jhumoir Binondini’ and ‘Advantage Assam 2.0.’ The LGBI Airport is being prepared to welcome Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji and other domestic and international investors for the #AdvantageAssam2 program.”

In preparation for the summit, the Assam Cabinet, under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, has approved several key decisions to boost the state’s economy and infrastructure:

MoUs worth Rs. 12,000 crore will be signed during the summit, attracting large-scale investments across various sectors.
The Textile and Apparel Policy, Assam 2025, has been approved to create an investor-friendly environment, enhance access to raw materials, and strengthen Assam’s textile sector.

A fund of Rs. 5,455 crore has been sanctioned for urban infrastructure development in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, aimed at modernising city infrastructure and improving public services.

With these strategic moves, Assam is positioning itself as a major investment hub, with Advantage Assam 2.0 expected to draw significant domestic and international investments.
