Gangtok: Agapi Sikkim, a woman-led skincare brand from Sikkim in India's Northeast had its advertisement displayed on the prestigious Times Square billboard in New York City, USA, on May 29.
The founders, Rinzing Choden Bhutia and Varsha Shreshta, completed the Immersion and Leadership Programme at Bradley University in Illinois, a joint initiative by Alsisar Impact and Kolkata University. The Times Square advertisement is considered a milestone for Agapi Sikkim and the state of Sikkim, showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit and potential of women leaders from the region.
Rinzing and Varsha have said they are proud to represent Sikkim on such a global platform and hope to inspire more women to break barriers and achieve their goals. The brand is known for its line of handcrafted skincare products that are sustainable, chemical-free, and made using rare plants from the Himalayan belt.
It was earlier in the news for its efforts to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Sikkim. Agapi Sikkim is valued at $1 million.
