Chandigarh: Power Minister Harbhajan Singh announced that Punjab's power utility PSPCL reached an all-time high electricity demand of 3,626 lakh units on July 16.

The state has experienced an increase in electricity demand during the humid weather conditions, stated the minister. Singh noted that on June 23, PSPCL supplied a record-breaking 3,563 lakh units in a single day.

He mentioned in a statement that the previous record was exceeded on July 16. He stated that strategic planning and effective resource management led to this success, utilizing all resources both inside and outside the state for a stable power supply.
