Tamulpur : Assam's Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development, Tourism, and other departments, Ranjeet Kumar Dass, chaired a comprehensive review meeting today at the conference hall of the Tamulpur District Commissioner’s office.
The meeting concentrated on the progress of key rural development initiatives in the district’s three development blocks—Tamulpur, Goreswar, and Nagrijuli.
Attended by Tamulpur Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Chakravarty, the Minister followed for a detailed status report from officials on the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin).
Importance was laid on the number of houses completed, those undecided, and the causes behind delays.
According to departmental updates, about 93 percent of the housing projects sanctioned from 2016-17 to 2023-24 have been completed.

Minister Dass issued a clear directive to complete all remaining works by August 14, cautioning that any further delay could affect the distribution of new housing units in the future.
The meeting also studied progress under the MGNREGA and Amrit Sarovar schemes.
Officials informed that out of 116 MGNREGA projects, 109 have been positively finished across the district.
Calling for a rehabilitated sense of urgency, the Minister stressed the importance of timely execution to ensure all-inclusive rural development and socio-economic upliftment. “The timely completion of these projects is crucial not just for Tamulpur but for the overall development trajectory of Assam,” he said.
Tamulpur :The review meeting was attended by Tamulpur MLA Jolen Daimary, BTC Executive Member Dharmanarayana Das, and MCLAs Pabitra Kumar Boro, Bijitgwra Narzary, and Hemanta Kumar Rabha, along with senior district officials and departmental staff.
