Rajasthan CM announces reservation for Agniveers, Rs 2 cr concessional rate loan to youth

New Delhi: The state budget was approved by the Rajasthan legislative assembly on Monday, and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma revealed a concessional rate loan of Rs 2 crore for the youth to establish industries, along with reservation for Agniveers in police, forest guards, and jail guards.

The Chief Minister also eased the qualification criteria for participating in the Common Entrance Test for state government positions. The budget authorized the purchase of 1,000 electric buses, allocated Rs 750 crore for establishing Rajasthan Institute of Medical Sciences similar to AIIMS, and included an annual increase in salary, allowances, and pension for MLAs.

He was responding to the Appropriation Bill-2024 and Finance Bill-2024 in the Rajasthan Assembly on Monday, and they were subsequently approved in the House through a voice vote. The House was postponed until Tuesday.

During the announcements, the Chief Minister stated that villages with over 10,000 residents would be linked to Atal Pragati Path. He declared his intention to transform Bikaner and Bharatpur into UIT -- an urban development authority. Furthermore, a new initiative has been revealed for enhancing the aesthetics of the Dravyavati river in Jaipur.

The Chief Minister stated that we follow through on our promises. We have declared 100,000 job openings and we will meet the goal. We do not make empty announcements like the Congress does. Sharma also censured the former Congress administration in the state for its policies and "financial indiscipline".

The Chief Minister stated that this year's budget is intended for all vulnerable segments of society. He stated that the state government is progressing towards the goal of 'Developed Rajasthan-2047'. He stated that the government's budget, guided by the principle of 'Sarvajan Hitaay', is inclusive of all members of society such as youth, farmers, laborers, women, poor, vulnerable, marginalized, and those in need of government schemes.
