Guwahati: Zetta Farms, a prominent player hailing from Rajasthan's agricultural sector, will use the hi-tech drone technology to enhance tea productivity of the gardens in Assam.
Talking to Business North East, Rituraj Sharma, Founder of Zetta Farm, said that firms mission is to enhance farm productivity, uplift the living standards of laborers, and enrich their livelihoods through their initiatives in Assam.
“This tea estate will be technology enabled. We are going to use drone technology to detect the area and its amount if there are any animal or pest attacks in the estate, reducing the time and pesticide consumption resulting in a morehealthier crop,” Mr Sharma told Business-Northeast.
Entering Assam, Zetta Farms is set to diversify its portfolio by establishing a sprawling 1000-acre Chandana tea estate in Assam, commemorating the 200-year legacy of Assam tea.
The strategic move aims to bring innovation to the agricultural landscape by introducing sustainable practices that could significantly reshape the tea sector.
Situated in Assam's Udalguri district, renowned for its fertile soil and ideal climate for tea cultivation, this project endeavors to tackle the prevailing challenges within the tea sector, including the plight of low income among farm laborers and operational deficits.
Collaborating with Jaipur Chakki and RPJ Tea Private Limited for marketing and retail endeavors, Zetta Farms aims to retail the tea produced across various Indian cities.
Vishnu Upadhyay of Jaipur Chakki, conveyed eagerness about being part of Assam's tea-rich heritage, while contributing to the promising growth trajectory of the tea industry.
The focus is on introducing premium teas that encapsulate Assam's distinct flavor and cultural essence, all while advocating sustainable methodologies, Sharma added.
Zetta farms is coming up with its B2C website and is soon going have its regional office here in Guwahati to look after their opeartions in NorthEast, he added.
"We are focused on upliftment of Assam's economy, ensuring the end to end growth through our venture and make the lives of the tea growers more better with our newly launched, Medical & Pension fund and perks of 'Zetta Rozgar Yojana', mentioned Rituraj.
Zetta Farms is planning to have more tea estates and also venture into other sectors of NorthEast.
Chetan Joshi, overseeing the end-to-end tea operations at Zetta Farms and also the founder of RPJ Tea Pvt. Ltd., underscored how Zetta Farms channeled its own profits to establish and acquire the tea estate.
