New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded the Micro Unit Development and Refinance Agency (MUDRA) Yojana on its completion of eight years.
In response to a series of tweets by MyGovIndia, Modi said MUDRA has played a vital role in funding the unfunded and ensuring a life of dignity as well as prosperity for countless Indians.
“Today, as we mark #8YearsOfMudraYojana, I salute the entrepreneurial zeal of all those who benefitted from it and became wealth creators,” he said.
MUDRA has so far approved more than Rs 40.8 crore loans with a total of Rs 23 lakh crore rupees.
According to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the programme has made it simple and hassle-free for micro-enterprises to acquire finance and has assisted a significant number of young entrepreneurs in starting their businesses.
Mudra has contributed to the creation of numerous job possibilities at the community level and has also shown to be a game-changer in terms of advancing the Indian economy.
