Passenger will get VIP service at Guwahati airport

Guwahati:  Guwahati airport is introducing paid services that promises to change travelling experience for passengers while it plans to get friendlier for the elderly, children and first-time travellers.

The next time one passes through the Adani-managed Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati, one can avail of a porter service, a premium service which is like the whole package and an elite service where one is made to feel like a royal. The most basic service is available at a mere Rs 400 which is baggage assistance from car parking till the check-in counter or baggage drop area. The next level is a platinum service which is end-to-end meet-and-greet service with complete baggage assistance, fast-track security check-in, and assistance till the boarding gate. Platinum Service costs Rs 1540.

At the top will be the Elite Service which is designed to let the passenger get the VIP red-carpet experience right from the time he arrives at the airport. This has all the components of the Platinum Service of course. In addition, it will have access to the VIP or reserved lounge with refreshments. That will cost the passenger Rs2750. Employees of the LGBIA will be deployed for the purpose.

“The community can be instrumental in creating a delightful experience to the air passenger throughout the journey,” chief airport officer, Utpal Baruah told Business Northeast. Baruah cited the Goa success story on how during 2004-8 in the formative years of making it a permanent venue for the International Film Festival of India, the Goa airport was turned into a world-class terminal.
