Guwahati: Out-of-home (OOH) advertising is witnessing a significant boom in Guwahati and other parts of Northeast India, reflecting a notable shift in the region's advertising dynamics. This growth is driven by increasing urbanization, enhanced infrastructure, and a rising demand for diverse advertising solutions.'

Manna Das Outdoor executive at Prodigy said, “Our coverage in Guwahati and across Northeast India has expanded significantly. We provide both static and digital display ads, with rates ranging from Rs 15,000 to Rs 90,000 depending on the location and size of the advertisement. Our flexible offerings cater to various environments and client needs.”

The OOH advertising market in Northeast India features several competitive players. Notable companies include Shahajatri and Delta Publicity, each offering unique advertising solutions tailored to different client needs. These companies are instrumental in shaping the vibrant and diverse OOH landscape in the region.

The outlook for out-of-home advertising in Guwahati and the broader Northeast region is optimistic. Ongoing urban development and increasing adoption of digital technologies are expected to drive further growth.

So, in which formats is out-of-home advertising in the region being done?

Billboards, which are arge-scale advertisements positioned on highways and busy streets for maximum visibility. Transit Advertising which are displayed on buses, trains, and other public transport, targeting commuters are also quite popular. Digital hisplays, or high-tech screens in urban areas offering dynamic and interactive ads are becoming more commonplace. Traditional posters and hoardings placed in high-traffic areas like malls and major intersections and ads featured on or around bus shelters, engaging waiting commuters also remain popular.
