Golaghat: Assam cabinet minister Atul Bora on Sunday inaugurated a new line water supply project under Bihra Gaon Panchayat and the Methani Tea Estate Water Supply scheme in Bokakhat town of Golaghat district. The outlay for these projects - under the Jal Jeevan Mission - is Rs 1.56 crore.
The new line water supply project under Bihra Gaon Panchayat will provide clean drinking water to 70 households in the area. On the other hand, the Methani Tea Estate Water Supply Scheme in Bokakhat will provide drinking water to more than 350 tea tribe families through tap connections.
"The projects should be properly maintained to ensure uninterrupted water supply to the beneficiaries", Bora said at the inauguration ceremony.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by officers of Bokakhat Sub-District Administration, officers of the Public Health Technical Department (PHTD), and other dignitaries and locals.
