Guwahati: The official posters and audio-video of one of the most anticipated Assamese movies titled 'Bhaimon Da' were unveiled at the Rudra Baruah Auditorium in Jyotichitraban, Kahilipara, on October 7th. Jointly produced by Shyamantak Gautam and Anupam Sarmah under the banner of Zeal Creations, the film's budget is expected to go up to 6 crores, as revealed by producer Shyamantak Gautam.
Speaking about his upcoming production during an interview with Business North East, Shyamantak Gautam stated, "I am fortunate to be involved in this biopic and tribute to Assamese cinema. The movie's budget is quite substantial, and after accounting for all production costs, it will reach nearly 6 crores."
Meanwhile, Sasanka Samir is helming the film while Vanchinathan Murugesan is donning the hat of the director of photography. Assamese singing legend and youth icon Zubeen Garg is composing the music for the upcoming movie.
'Bhaimon Da' is based on the life and legacy of the late Munin Baruah, a talented and prominent figure in the Assamese film industry. He was an iconic film director and screenwriter who played a crucial role in establishing and popularizing Assamese cinema. Out of respect and affection, people referred to him as 'Bhaimon Da,' which is also the title of the movie.
The story, screenplay, and dialogues have been penned by Sasanka Samir. Further talking about the upcoming Assamese film, director Sasanka Samir said, "In this film, we aimed to showcase the contributions of Munin Baruah to the Assamese cinema industry, collaborating with the talented artists of Assam."
A live painting session was held in front of the Rudra Baruah Auditorium during the poster and audio launch event. Bhaimon Da is slated to release on February 7, 2025.
