NDDB to manage WAMUL for another five years: Assam Govt.

Assam: On Saturday, 7th August 2021, the Assam Government stated that it has extended the NDDB's management of WAMUL.

For the next five years, National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) will manage West Assam Milk Producers Cooperative Union Ltd (WAMUL).

NDDB has managed WAMUL since 2008 and will continue for another five years.

To upgrade, restore or revive the dairy cooperative institution, Assam Govt. has approved the extension of the agreement for the next five years on August 6, 2021.
Presently, WAMUL procures an average daily quantity of 41,000 kg of milk from 13,916 dairy farmers. WAMUL has a turnover of Rs. 120 crore till March 31, 2021. NDDB and its subsidiaries are already associated with the dairy development activities of Assam.

To discuss the associated aspects of dairy development, NDDB Chairman Meenesh Shah met Assam CM, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Atul Bora, Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Border Area Development, Implementation of Assam Accord, Cooperation.
