Wokha: The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited  (NHIDCL) has promised to repair a damaged portion of the Wokha-Merapani road during the liability period and undertake maintenance.

The maintenance work will start within ten days, according to Deputy General Manager Neeraj Khare. Advisor for Agriculture and Chairman DPDB Wokha, Mhathung Yanthan, thanked the NHIDCL for assuring the board to resume the maintenance work at the earliest and assured that "the government and all stakeholders of the district will extend all out support for successful implementation," according to an official relase.

Meanwhile, the director of land resources, Albert Ngullie, highlighted groundwater governance through springshed management in Wokha town. He highlighted that Nagaland is the leading state in the country on springshed management programmes initiated by the state government.

Meanwhile, the Department of Land Resources has taken up three major plantation crops for Wokha District, including rubber, areca nut, and coffee plantations. The other major project is springshed management.

Ngullie also highlighted the importance of a multi-stakeholder partnership model for addressing groundwater-related issues. He suggested that this project will be successful through a convergence between state, technical experts, and NGOs in the District, coordination among stakeholders, fund mobilization facilitation and supervision of works, and monitoring & evaluation (M&E) with able support from Local Legislators and District Administration.
