Guwahati: Assam is marking the 2024 Rash festival with grand celebrations in places like Nalbari, Majuli, Barpeta, and Guwahati. In Guwahati, the Lokhora Udyan Kristi Sangha field is one of the prominent venues hosting the event this year.

The Lakhara Rash Festival witnessed an overwhelming turnout of devotees this year. The field has been adorned with vibrant decorations, and altars have been set up to showcase statues of Lord Krishna and other Hindu deities, along with intricate automated displays illuminated with dazzling lights. Moreover, food stalls, toy vendors, and parking services at the festival gates drew special attention, creating a bustling and lively atmosphere.

The General Secretary of the Rash Committee shared insights into the festival's scale. While speaking to Business North East (BNE), he said, “Lakhs of devotees visit every year, and vendors from various parts register for stall setups. We charge Rs 25,000 for registration and provide electricity and other facilities. This year, the festival’s budget has reached Rs 40 lakhs."

The Rash Festival remains a profound expression of devotion, culture, and community, as it celebrates the divine Rasleela of Lord Krishna. Each year, it brings people together, blending spirituality with festivity, making it a cherished tradition for all who partake in its joy.
