Guwahati: The much anticipated IIT Guwahati's annual fest 'Alcheringa 2025' starts today, January 30. The creative cultural extravaganza is all set to kick off with a Classical Night. With over 100 competitions, the event offers a platform for students and individuals from across the country to showcase their talent and skills.

In an exclusive interview with Business North East (BNE), Ravi K, Chairman of the Cultural Board, and Sulabh Napit, Head of Media & Outreach for Alcheringa 2025, shared their excitement and how this year's fest is different from the previous fests.

"This is not only an opportunity for individuals to showcase their artistic and musical talents, but we are also going to host a Business Hurdle where students can present their startup ideas and interact with prominent entrepreneurs and government officials," IIT Guwahati Cultural Board Chairman Ravi K said.

"The influx of tourism benefits local businesses, and we are expecting more than 1.5 lakh visitors this year. More than 20 regional food stalls and various other stalls will be set up inside the campus," he further stated during the BNE interview.

Alcheringa 2025 Media & Outreach Head Sulabh Napit revealed that popular actor Lekha Prajapati, who featured in the film Fukrey 3, will be judging the event's Fashion Show segment, while Bollywood singer Amit Trivedi will perform tonight. The grand finale on February 2 will feature an EDM night, according to Napit.
