HPL Electric's Q1FY25 reports Revenue rise of 22.5 pc with 40 pc rise in EBITDA growth & Rs 3,700+ crore Order Book pipeline

New Delhi: HPL Electric & Power Ltd., a prominent producer of electrical products, has revealed its financial performance for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2025, which ended on June 30, 2024. The Company achieved substantial increases in revenue and profits, attributed to strong sales growth in its Metering, Systems & Services divisions, as well as strategic developments in smart metering technology. The Company's first quarter revenue in FY25 increased by 22.50 pc year over year to Rs 392.91 crores from Rs 320.74 crores in FY24, due to strong growth in Metering & Systems and Consumer, Industrial & Services product categories.

The gross profit for the quarter rose by 32.28 pc compared to the previous year to Rs 140.29 crores, indicating a higher gross margin of 35.71 pc  versus 33.06 pc  last year. This enhancement was a result of the company's ability to effectively handle expenses and increase the worth of the product.

EBITDA Increased: HPL experienced a substantial YoY growth of 40.19 pc to Rs 56.13 crores, as EBITDA margins grew by 180 basis points to 14.29 pc from 12.48 pc. The strong operational efficiency and effective cost management resulted in this impressive performance.

Profit Before Tax (PBT) and Profit After Tax (PAT) saw significant growth, with PBT increasing by 113.40 pc to Rs 23.01 crores and PAT rising by 145.45 pc to Rs 17.03 crores year-over-year. The profit after tax margin increased by 217 basis points to 4.33 pc from 2.16 pc. The Company's profit saw a substantial rise due to effectively implementing growth strategies and enhancing automation and operations.

The earnings per share (EPS) also saw a significant rise of 145.37 pc, reaching Rs 2.65 in Q1 FY25 compared to Rs 1.08 in Q1 FY24. Market Leadership in Smart Metering: HPL Electric & Power Ltd. has solidified its position as a leader in the smart metering industry, with a significant 35.67 pc year-over-year growth in its Metering, Systems & Services division. The steady influx of orders for traditional meters fueled this growth.
