Skill development for rural women through mobile skill morung launched

Wokha: The second phase of the short-term Skill Development Training on Tailoring for Rural Women, part of the Skill Development for Rural Women through Mobile Skill Morung initiative, was inaugurated at Wozhuro Headquarter in Wokha district. The event featured Savio Visa, Additional Director of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Nagaland, as the special guest.

In his address, Savio Visa encouraged the 25 trainees from various villages under the Wozhuro range to take the 14-day training seriously, emphasizing the potential for self-employment. He urged the trainees to consider starting their own tailoring businesses in their villages, contributing to local economies. Visa also requested the village council to support and monitor the trainees' progress as they embark on their new ventures.

Meriyan Village's Village Council Chairman, Alow Khuvung, speaking on behalf of the Wozhuro Range Village Council Union, expressed gratitude to the Department for bringing the training program to their community. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in addressing unemployment among the youth in the range.

Yanbemo Tungu, Chairman of the Wozhuro Range Council Union (WRCU), echoed these sentiments in his closing remarks. He thanked the Director, the Government of Nagaland, and all officials involved in the program, and urged the Department to continue offering short-term skill development trainings for the youth.

The program was chaired by Vibeituonuo Rüpre-o, Employment Officer, with District Employment Officer Wokha, Atsie Kenneth, welcoming the attendees. Richard, the Training Partner from Skill Alli, provided an overview of the training and its benefits.
