Swagat Hospital has introduced North-East India's first-ever hernia technology using Fasiotens, specifically designed for critical patients. This revolutionary method, pioneered by Dr. Green Hill from Germany, addresses the challenges faced by surgeons in treating complex abdominal wall defects that traditional methods often cannot close.
Currently, the treatment methodology is expensive due to the higher cost of disposable equipment. However, the technique will soon be combined with robotic surgery, promising even greater advancements in patient care. A surgery was recently conducted by the team at Swagat Hospital, led by Prof. Subhash Khanna. The team included Dr. Supriya Choudhary, Dr. Areendam Baruah, Dr. Biswajyoti Rabha, and Dr. Kanieeka Das. They were assisted by scrub nurses Bidyarani Devi, Lipika Saikia, and Alvanisha Dkhar.
