Guwahati: Several flights to and from Guwahati have been cancelled on Tuesday due to inclement weather. In addition to incessant rain, Assam's biggest commercial hub has also seen power supply being cut off in most areas.
Meanwhile, cancellation of the flights have left passengers stranded and disrupted travel plans.
As per reports, IndiGo, one of India's leading airlines, has suspended operations for the following flights:
6E-6942: Aizawl to Guwahati
6E-6955: Guwahati to Aizawl
6E-262: Guwahati to Silchar
6E-263: Silchar to Guwahati

Similarly, Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India, has also been affected, with cancellations of the following flights on routes between Kolkata (CCU) and Guwahati (GAU):
9i-757: Kolkata to Guwahati
9i-758: Guwahati to Kolkata
9i-783: Guwahati to Aizawl

These cancellations come as a result of severe weather conditions at the destination airports, particularly in Aizawl, where adverse weather has disrupted flight operations.
Passengers have been advised to check with their respective airlines for updates and alternative arrangements.
According to reports, authorities are closely monitoring the situation, with efforts underway to ensure minimal disruption and passenger inconvenience.
Cyclone Remal, which made landfall along the coasts of Bangladesh and West Bengal, has weakened, but the after effects of the storm continue to be felt.
Meanwhile, the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) has issued warnings for exceptionally heavy rainfall across Assam and neighbouring Northeastern states on May 27 and 28.
