Guwahati: Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA), managed by Adani Airport Holdings Limited, has announced the launch of a new daily direct flight connecting the vibrant city of Guwahati (GAU) with the historic city of Ahmedabad (AMD).
The inaugural flight was celebrated with a cake-cutting ceremony and interactive activities for passengers. Starting December 10, this new service marks a significant milestone in enhancing connectivity and fostering economic growth, according to a release.
It is the longest flight route from Guwahati. Guwahati, the gateway to Northeast India, is a hub of commerce, culture, and tourism, while Ahmedabad, renowned for its textile industry, cuisine, and iconic landmarks like the Sabarmati Ashram and the Akshardham Temple, is renowned for its history and culture.

Bridging these two distinctive destinations will open up new avenues for both business and leisure travel and facilitate easier access to education, healthcare, and employment opportunities for the people of both states.
