New Delhi: All cargo Logistics-owned Gati Limited has launched state-of-the-art and tech-enabled surface transhipment centres (STCs) in Guwahati, Nagpur, and Maharashtra.
The launch is consistent with Gati's objective to establish 12 cutting-edge, automated, and green STCs.
According to a statement from the corporation, it intends to expand its STCs in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad in order to improve its supply chain and storage capabilities and networks.
The Guwahati STC is strategically located at Gauripur industrial corridor which is around 40,000 sq. ft. The STC is connected to the other parts of the country through National Highway. The arterial road offers congestion-free access to the STC. It is equipped with modern infrastructure, enhanced warehousing capacity and 400 tonne of throughput capacity per day, the Guwahati STC builds superior cargo delivery efficiency for its clients to seven sisters of India - Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland and Tripura.
"With economic expansion picking up steam, there is a rising need for well-equipped shipping and storage infrastructure in India's main areas. Our goal with the opening of the STCs in Nagpur and Guwahati is to fulfil demand and raise the bar for the provision of storage and transportation services. Due to its advantageous position, the Guwahati STC provides a wide distribution network to the North Eastern states. With additional STCs on the way, Gati Ltd. is coordinating its plans and resources to build a strong supply chain backbone that will help a variety of businesses.
By 2025, we intend to have all 2,000 pickup and delivery trucks in our fleet running on electricity as part of our ESG activities.
