Guwahati: The Directorate of Inland Water Transport, Assam (DIWTA), has launched e-ticketing services for Silchar-based ferry services.
Transport Minister Parimal Suklabaidya virtually inaugurated the service at Janata Bhavan in Dispur in the presence of various officials.
The introduction of e-ticketing is a significant step in the Assam Inland Water Transport Project, aimed at modernising and improving passenger convenience in the inland water transport system.
The initiative aims to provide a seamless and convenient ticketing experience for passengers, making travel across the waterways of Assam hassle-free. The launch of e-ticketing services is expected to transform the way passengers access and utilise the inland water transport services in Silchar, Assam.
