New Delhi: Dr. L. Murugan, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, emphasized the significance of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in boosting productivity and enhancing governance. He stressed that utilizing AI and data-driven decision-making could greatly reduce the workload of government employees, enabling them to concentrate on crucial aspects of governance and promote innovation in their divisions.

Dr. Murugan highlighted AI tools such as ChatGPT and Gemini for their ability to streamline operations by cutting down on repetitive tasks. He contended that by embracing technology, civil servants would be able to enhance their efficiency and focus on strategic tasks, ultimately resulting in better outcomes for citizens. While speaking, he also talked about the iGOT Karmayogi Portal, which aids in the ongoing education and skill enhancement of government officials. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting recently held three webinars on the use of social media, the development of film viewing, and photography skills. These programs seek to provide civil servants with the skills needed to handle the challenges of their positions in the digital era.

Dr. Murugan Celebrates National Learning Week, Emphasizes Continuous Learning and AI Integration for Future-Ready Civil Service

Dr. Murugan commended the Ministry for creating the iGOT lab, which promotes a continuous learning environment. The laboratory acts as a central location for learning, offering tools and chances for improving skills. He was confident that these initiatives would help develop a civil service prepared for the future in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision. He made his comments at the prize distribution ceremony for National Learning Week 2024, where he was the main guest. This occasion symbolized the conclusion of Karmayogi Saptah, which was designed to encourage ongoing learning for government employees. Dr. Murugan acknowledged exceptional performers, emphasizing their impact on successful governance and public service.

Dr. Murugan, along with Information and Broadcasting Secretary Sanjay Jaju and Special Secretary Neerja Shekhar, emphasized the shared dedication to enhancing the Karmayogi project and incorporating contemporary technologies in public administration. Karmayogi Saptah, also called National Learning Week, is a substantial effort introduced by Prime Minister Modi to improve civil service capabilities. The program aims to continuously educate and develop skills so that civil servants are prepared to meet the changing requirements of governance.
