New Delhi :According to a report released on Friday, the need for workers with expertise in sustainable construction practices in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) increased by 25 pc compared to May of the previous year because of higher salaries. A report from UAE-based AI-driven platform Huntr stated that between May 2023 and April 2024, there was a 25 per cent increase in the need for workers with expertise in sustainable construction practices, especially in roles involving Building Information Modelling (BIM), digital twin technologies, energy efficiency, safety compliance, and sustainable materials management.

The report stated that these abilities are essential as the UAE continues to promote sustainability efforts, with a focus on initiatives that emphasize energy efficiency and waste reduction. Samuel Joy, the CEO of Huntr, stated that Indian workers skilled in energy-efficient technologies and sustainable practices are well-suited to meet this demand, leading to advantages such as increased wages, longer contracts, and improved working conditions.

The analysis in the report is focused on the workforce data from May 2023 to April 2024.Workers in green roles make, on average, AED 1,08,522 per year, which is much more than the AED 73,250 earned by individuals in traditional construction jobs, as per Huntr data.
