Centre sanctions 78 roads and 14 bridges worth Rs 378.68 crore in Assam

New Delhi: The Ministry of Rural Development of the central government has sanctioned 78 roads and 14 bridges worth Rs 378.68 crore to Assam under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana-III. 

The government said, "The initiative aims to strengthen rural connectivity and accelerate economic growth in the Northeast. The roads will improve access to essential services like healthcare, education, and markets, while enhancing connectivity in rural areas, foster economic development, create employment opportunities, and align with the government's vision of a prosperous Northeast and a developed India (Viksit Bharat)."


The projects will have a transformative impact on the region, contributing to its growth and prosperity, and cementing the government's commitment to inclusive development, it added.
