Guwahati: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled plans to reward the ground staff of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.
As a tangible token of appreciation, the BCCI has earmarked prize money for the ground staff at all IPL venues. Groundsmen and curators at the 10 regular IPL venues will be awarded a sum of Rs 25 lakh each. Similarly, their counterparts at the three additional venues will receive a sum of Rs10 lakhs each.
Despite facing numerous challenges, including adverse weather conditions and logistical hurdles, these individuals have consistently delivered exceptional results, ensuring that the IPL remains a benchmark for cricketing excellence worldwide.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, in a statement, lauded the tireless commitment of these individuals, whose efforts often go unnoticed amidst the glitz and glamour of the IPL. Their relentless dedication and hard work are the backbone of the tournament, providing players with optimal playing conditions and spectators with a riveting cricketing experience,. he said.
