Bank Holidays alert for June 2022

Guwahati: June will have a total of eight bank holidays, including weekends and festivals.

Banks have become an essential component of our personal, social, and professional life. Knowing bank holidays ahead of time and organising your financial operations properly may save you a lot of time and trouble.

According to the RBI's list, there will be fewer holidays in June. Although the number of days that bank branches would be closed in different states may vary according to local festivals. Due to these local festivals or regional holidays, certain bank offices will stay closed in several states.

So, just keep it in mind when you go to your bank this month. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced that some banking operations would be suspended in June 2022, however internet banking services will remain operational.

According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday schedule, banks will be closed on two days, with the remaining days being weekends. However, you should be aware that banks will NOT be closed for all holidays in all states or areas. Bank branches, for example, maybe closed for Bhubaneswar in Bhubaneshwar but not in other states. The Reserve Bank of India categorises its holidays into three categories: holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement, and bank closings. However, it should be noted that bank holidays vary by state and are not honoured by all financial institutions. Banking holidays are also affected by festivals observed in individual states or notice of special events in such states.

Aside from the above-mentioned bank holidays, the second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays of each month fall on the following dates:

Few holidays will differ depending on area, but for the gazetted holidays, banks will be closed throughout the country.
