Guwahati: The North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation Limited (NERAMAC) recently organised a seminar on Geographical Indication (GI) in Kohima to promote and protect the region’s traditional agricultural practices.
The seminar on June 28 aimed at creating a groundswell in GI awareness and user authorisation in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, Commodore Rajiv Ashok (Retired), Managing Director, NERAMAC, said it was a significant step for promotion and protection of traditional agricultural practices. “The initiative would recognise the unique products and protect them from misuse and imitation,” he added.
