Assam Skill Development Mission sign four MoUs

Assam Skill Development Mission( ASDM) today signed four MoUs to upgrade skilling and generate employment in the state.

The MoUs were been signed between Skill Deptt and Walmart, Flipkart, Directorate of Employment Craftsmen and Training, and HCL TechBee for the upliftment of the skill ecosystem.

The MoUs were signed in the presence of Skill Development Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah, Dr. B. Kalyan Chakravarty, Principal Secretary, Skill Deptt, Dr. Lakshmanan S, Ankur Jain, Managing Director, ASDM, and other officials from the industries.

Assam Skill Development Mission was set up under the aegis of Skill Employment and Entrepreneurship Department. The vision of the mission is capacity building of the unemployed youth and to deliver quality skill training leading to meaningful employment.

The MoU with Walmart will encourage and give a platform to the local artisans and craftsmen an online marketplace to promote Assam’s traditions and crafts through the WALMART Vriddhi program. Walmart Vriddhi is a supplier development program that aims to work with Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in India to expand their domestic capabilities and participate in the global economy.

The MOU between DECT and HCL will help tp reach out to various government ITIs/other institutions in Assam to help increase the employability of youths in Assam benefitting class XII passed candidates.

The MoU between HCL and Assam Skill University will help in skilling and employment programs on mutual benefit to counseling and conducting assessment & support for the candidates of Assam specifically hilly areas wherein internet connectivity is inadequate.

The MOU between Flipkart and ASDM will provide opportunities to youths of Assam in Flipkart Supply Chain Operations Academy, creating a pool of e-commerce supply chain talent.
