Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has launched the Chief Minister's Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA) 2.0, aiming to create an enabling atmosphere for entrepreneurship in the state. CM's Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan 2.0 is an extension of the earlier mission designed to further enhance the spirit of entrepreneurship in the state. As many as 75,000 beneficiaries will be selected for CMAAA 2.0.
Under CMAAA 1.0, the state government distributed Rs. 510 crore to 25238 budding entrepreneurs across the state. The state is committed to starting a new era of entrepreneurship in Assam, where empowered youth will be given opportunities to start their entrepreneurial ventures. Under CMAAA 2.0, selected beneficiaries will receive Rs. 5 lakh for Professional Course Category and Rs. 2 lakh for Non-professional Course Category in two trenches as entrepreneurship incentives.
Eligibility Criteria For Applying To CMAAA 2.0
Applicants possessing four years degree in engineering, medicine, agriculture, veterinary, and fishery will be treated as professional course category applicants.
Age Limit
The eligibility age for the applicants has been raised from 40 to 45, and they must have skill/experience and knowledge to perform income-generating activities. They must also have a scheduled commercial bank account opened before April 1, 2024.
CMAAA 2.0: How To Apply?
Interested and eligible applicants will have to register themselves on the CMAAA portal and submit a detailed project report during the application phase.
CMAAA 2.0: Last Date For Rgistration
The portal will remain open until 18 November for registration. In five districts where bye-elections have been declared, applicants will get a chance to register for CMAAA 2.0 once the election model code of conduct ends.
The spirit of CMAAA 2.0 is to empower youth and inculcate entrepreneurial skills. Through the abhijan, efforts will be made to make beneficiaries eligible and competent for Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, a flagship scheme of the Central Government that facilitates micro credit/loan up to Rs. 10 lakh to income-generating micro enterprises.
