A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Assam government and Visva-Bharati University in West Bengal to establish a Chair in honor of Srimanta Sankardeva at Visva-Bharati University. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma described this as "a proud moment for Assam" as the ancient university will now host a Chair dedicated to Assam's revered Guru, Srimanta Sankardeva.
Education Minister Ranoj Pegu highlighted that this is the third MoU signed between universities, with plans to increase the number further, aiming to expand and promote Assam's rich historical knowledge.
