Guwahati: Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria on Wednesday congratulated the team of IIT-Guwahati for their achievements, including achieving the 344th rank among higher educational institutions in the QS World Ranking 2025. The institute has also achieved the 87th rank globally in SDG 9 in the Times Higher Education Impact Ranking 2024, 4th rank in Chemistry, 5th rank in Physical Sciences, and 7th rank in all institutions category under the 287th rank globally in Academics in Nature Index Ranking 2024.
"The Governor congratulated the team and expressed pride in the institute's environment for teaching, learning, and cutting-edge research and development activities," the IIT-Guwahati said. He emphasized the institute's role in producing globally competitive human resources and conducting cutting-edge research that has significantly benefited society.
To sustain the robust education system and capacity building of state universities, the Governor has asked the director of IIT-G to arrange an orientation program for the faculties of other universities in the state. The Governor hoped that IIT Guwahati would gain greater global prominence and its graduates would lead the nation in every sphere of life.
