Guwahati: The Assam Government has initiated a 12-day development program to provide welfare schemes across the state, benefiting citizens in sectors like education, industries, finance, and economic growth. Today, an event under this program was held at the District Library in Guwahati, focusing on key distributions and announcements to support women, farmers, and Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
"This 12-day development program at the District Library is for the Kamrup Metro citizens and will be conducted in every district," Kamrup Metro Deputy Commissioner Sumit Sattawan said while addressing the gathering.
IAS Sumit Sattawan said as many as 612 women who have taken loans from microfinance companies will receive no-due certificates. The state is all set to launch schemes for 986 flood-affected people in Kamrup district, and 68 people will benefit from seed capital allocations for PMFME under the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme.

He further said that under the PMFME scheme 68 people can use Rs 10,000 crore outlay and a 90:10 expenditure sharing between the central government and state governments in northeastern and Himalayan states.
The event saw the presence of dignitaries, including GMC Mayor Mrigen Sarania and other senior officials, reflecting the state's commitment to inclusive growth and economic empowerment across Assam.
