Itanagar: Lower Subansiri DC Bamin Nime on Monday urged youth empowerment and emphasised the need of learning the right skills that would aid in locating suitable employment as well as the dignity of work.
The workshop's major goal was to empower young people by educating them about the numerous ongoing programmes of the line departments and their advantages. It also served as a forum for all other development departments to discuss, educate, and sensitise the public about their own ongoing programmes.
Speaking at a workshop for SANKALP (Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion) here, the DC called for the fusion of the various training programmes offered with the line departments to make them fruitful and meaningful. The workshop was organised by the skill development and entrepreneurship department in collaboration with district industries centre.
The DC emphasised the need for innovation and the critical role that knowledge, education, and communication play in forming the inventive mindsets of young people in their appeal to the youth to support the district administration's efforts to improve waste management in the valley.
Assistant director SDE Bullo Apa briefed the objectives of the workshop.
Apa gave a thorough overview of the department's numerous ongoing programmes, including the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana's provisions for new and up-to-date skill development and the Chief Minister Yuva Kaushal Yojana's high-end skill development training programme, which offered high-paying jobs.
He also mentioned that the state's seven ITIs provided vocational training to youth.
Additionally, the department supports apprenticeship programmes and certain skilled individuals.
Jisuel Dongri, the IIE state coordinator, provided information on the many ongoing training programmes undertaken by the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) in the state, including the community-based cluster training programme at Diyun and the Eri silk khadi cluster training programme at Oyan in East Siang district.
